We purchased two acres of land in February of 2011. We have a volunteer builder and architect who created plans for the kids new school, medical clinic and multi-use building. These plans were tailored to use local materials and earthquake-safe construction techniques. Work on this building began in the summer of 2011. Local workers continue to work as fundraising in the U.S. and Canada permits. The foundation is complete, and the floor has been poured.
In addition, our builder is creating a "construction manual" that the workers will be able to use to have the ability to replicate this construction elsewhere -- providing them with much-needed marketable skills.

Non-Monetary NeedsBuilding the new school is our first priority right now: however, we are also in need of:
1. Nutritious, non-perishable food in bulk (nuts, granola, dried fruits in large bags). We hand-carry these items in to Haiti.
2. Office supplies such as plain white envelopes (any size), plain white cotton watermarked paper and plain white mailing labels (any size).
3. Fabric, thread, needles, scissors and any other sewing supplies for the women's sewing circle.
4. Beads, bead wire, findings, etc... to for interested WOH parents to make jewelry they can sell.
5. Construction items we cannot find in Haiti:
