Sewing Circle

At the end of July, the sewing program was helped through the support of many. The West Hempstead Rotary Club from Long Island donated money for us to purchase additional sewing machines. Volunteers came from far and wide to donate time, energy, and materials to teach interested students and families how to sew. They were taught introductory stitching and needle skills as well as how to plan out sewing projects. They sewed the skorts and shorts for the kids' uniforms and skirts for themselves too! Two mothers also took on the responsibility of sewing bags for fundraising. We are looking forward to expanding this in the future.
